About this Collection
Have your Christmas Tree collected by Teesside Hospice and make a donation to help care for local people suffering from cancer and other life limiting illnesses.
The simplest, greenest and most charitable way to get rid of your real Christmas tree is to get involved in our Christmas Tree Recycling Scheme. The collection is run entirely by volunteers.
All Christmas trees will be recycled and used to build a path in Stewart Park.
We are collecting trees from Friday 5 to Sunday 7 January 2018
REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT
Donations are crucial to the success of this event and to ensuring that we can continue to provide vital care to our patients and their families. How your donation will make a difference this Christmas:
- £5 will pay for the fuel to transport a patient to and from our day care service
- £10 will pay for a 30 minute counselling session
- £25 will fund 1 hour of nursing support
- £50 will pay for five of our patients Christmas dinners
- £100 will run our ambulance for one day
For queries or further information about the Christmas tree collection please call Kim Bradley on 01642 811150 or 07766 307 155 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Please spread the word to family, friends, neighbours and work colleagues.
About the Hospice
Teesside Hospice exists to enhance the quality of life for those suffering from cancer and other life limiting illnesses. We provide a range of services for patients, families and carers, helping over 3,000 people in the Teesside area each year.
Our services focus on providing expertise in pain, symptom management and psychological support as well as end of life care. We work closely with other health and social care staff involved in the care of the patient and their family, including GP’s, Community Nurses and other Specialist Palliative Care professionals. We provide:
- 10 beds for inpatient care
- Edward and Glenis Guy Day Hospice with 16 places per day
- Adult Bereavement Counselling
- ‘Forget-Me-Not’ Children’s Bereavement Counselling
- Medical outpatient clinics
- Lymphoedema outpatient clinics
- Home visits
- Telephone advice
Most people are surprised to learn that Teesside Hospice’s annual running costs are in excess of £2.7 million. We receive in the region of one third of these costs from the local NHS and must therefore raise approximately £5,500 each and every day of the year from our own resources, most of which is generated by the activities such as our Christmas Tree recycling scheme.
