About this Collection
St Luke’s Hospice Christmas tree collection brings together local organisations such as Round Table, Rotary, Corporates, Scout and sports Groups and hospice staff and volunteers. Together, our collectors and chipping and shredding teams work tirelessly over a four day a period to collect many thousands of trees for a donation The chippings are used in various ways but mainly to create paths and bedding. The whole purpose is to raise vital funds and to be environmentally green at the same time.
Our volunteers are collecting trees from the 10th -13th January 2019 in the following postcodes:
CW1 CW2 CW4 CW5 CW6 CW7 CW8 CW9 CW10 CW11
Please register your tree by 8 January 12 noon
Thank you for your support and involvement in the St Luke’s Hospice Christmas tree collection. St Luke’s Hospice need to raise nearly £9,000 per day to continue to offer our amazing work in the community. Our 2017 collection covered three full days of hospice care and also donated a percentage of our funds to small local charities such as Petty Pool Trust, Holmes Chapel Scouts, Childrens Adventure Farm Trust, Sandbach Foodbank and Tarporley Cottage Hospital. We would love to smash our £30K target this year so please do share our details with friends and family who you know have a real Christmas tree. If they are outside our catchment area it is very possible they can be linked to another hospice by simply going to the same JustHelping website link and putting in their own postcode.
Please could we ask that your donation reflects if you have more than one tree. If your tree is more than 7 foot please could you take a saw to the middle (we won't count it as two trees!) We cannot pick up more trees from an address than we have on our sheets so if you live in a communal area please ensure your neighbours have also donated and not piled their tree next to yours as they will have to be left as we will not have allocated enough space in the vans for extra trees. Please follow our website link to see which days we are collecting in your area as they may vary. We would however suggest you put your tree outside by 7am on Thursday 10th January and we will collect it by 5pm Sunday 13th. If it has not been collected by 5pm please contact 01606 555688 on Monday from 9am and we will include you in our sweep up collection for any missed trees. We cannot add in new trees at this point
For further information about the Christmas tree collection or to get involved next year please contact Jane Thompson on tel: 01606 555688 or by email firstname.lastname@example.org.
About the Hospice
St Luke’s is not just a building – it’s a group of staff, volunteers, and supporters who work together to provide exceptional end of life care to patients and support to their families.
We provide this care to people living in Mid and South Cheshire, and because we believe the end of life deserves as much beauty, care and respect as the beginning, everything we do is provided free of charge.
We offer a personalised approach to illness and care for patients around the clock, which means we have to raise over £3 million a year to do what we do. Our approach to care stretches beyond nursing and medication; it includes, counselling, family support, therapies to calm and relax, it incorporates specialist and high quality food and nutrition and often a fragrant bubble bath, a fluffy dressing gown perhaps with the odd glass of ‘something nice’ where appropriate. Nothing we do is too much trouble and the patient and their family are the centre of our world.
