About this Collection
Queenscourt Hospice is delighted to be running the Christmas Tree Collection for a third year in their local area.
Enjoy a hassle-free start to 2019 and let Queenscourt Hospice collect and recycle your Christmas tree. Not only is it great for the environment, but it’s great for our community too.
Our volunteers are collecting trees on the 12th and 13th January 2019 from the following postcodes:
PR4 6 PR8 PR9 L37 L39 L40
Please register your tree by Tuesday 8th January at 5pm.
Your donation will help to provide specialist care and support for local patients and families.
- £10 can help build our library of children’s books which we share with families to help them deal with understanding loss and grief
- £25 can help to fund a creative therapy session; completing projects can lead to a sense of achievement and pride, whilst creating special gifts and memories for family and friends
- £50 can help towards a physiotherapy session for a patient, helping to ease discomfort and improve physical symptoms
- £125 can help to cover the cost of a nurse’s shift on our inpatient unit, where they can help deal with a patient’s pain and symptoms
Last year we collected 800 trees, raised £8,402.31 with £921.92 going to our nominated charity of choice, The Southport Offshore Rescue Trust. This year we are hoping to collect even more trees and raise even more money for the Hospice and for our nominated charity, Twinkle House.
Twinkle House is Wellness and Sensory Centre that provides free support sessions for children and young people with Disabilities and Additional Needs. They also provide a range of sensory rooms and a Hydrotherapy pool for all ages, as well as Sleep Counselling and Therapeutic Dance, Yoga and Mindfulness sessions for children and young people up to the age of 19 years old.
In 2017, they offered support and the therapeutic facilities to over 6,000 people in West Lancashire which has meant that they are able improve the health and well-being for family support, building resilience and empowering children and young people and are also able to provide early intervention and support parents and carers, particularly those with undiagnosed or with newly diagnosed Disabilities.

About the Hospice
Queenscourt Hospice is at the heart of palliative care within Southport, Formby and West Lancashire.
We strive to provide the very best specialist care free of charge to adults reaching the end of their lives, whilst giving vital support and respite to families and carers. We achieve this through a broad range of services within the Hospice, hospitals, patient’s homes and throughout the local community.
We do all we can for those in our care and understand the importance of personal choice, independence and dignity. On average we support over 1000 people every year to live the best possible quality of life and enjoy precious time with their loved ones.
Providing such a high standard of care costs Queenscourt around £4 million each year. With less than 20% of our costs from the NHS, we very much rely on the wonderful support we receive from our community and fundraising activities such as this collection service.
Your support is greatly appreciated!
