Charities
From first-time collections to long-standing partnerships, charities tell us that TreeCycle is not only a brilliant fundraiser, but a well-supported and sustainable way to engage supporters, volunteers and local communities.

“Our Christmas Tree Collection is a major aspect of our Christmas fundraising, and partnering with Just Helping makes the whole process so much easier, allowing us to focus on the experience of our supporters.
Having Just Helping to work alongside the hospice makes managing the project so much easier, as they deal with all of the supporters booking in their trees, routing for our volunteer collectors and all of the volunteer Ts&Cs. They also helped us secure some volunteers to help out as well.
Christmas time is hectic enough in fundraising, so to have all of this taken care of by Georgia and the team at Just Helping made everything so much easier. We received some real positive feedback from our volunteer collectors who said that from their side of things, accessing the app with all of the routes was easy, as was the whole process of getting signed up to take part.
Getting volunteers can sometimes be a challenge, so to have the admin side of things that Just Helping run be easy to manage, and not a barrier to entry, was a massive plus for us 😊”

First year success
“We loved organising our first ever Christmas tree collection this January. From identifying drop-off locations and sourcing volunteers, to coordinating vans and working with the local council, the team at Just Helping were on hand to offer their invaluable guidance.
We exceeded our targets, raising over £6,000, and not only did this help generate vital funds for the hospice, but it also had a positive environmental impact.”
Rachel Bloom
Community and Events Manager, North London Hospice
Second year growth
“It has been great to see our tree collection continue to grow in its second year. Our supporters really engage with the collection and it creates some amazing engagement opportunities with local businesses and charities.
We look forward to continuing to develop our collection, helping to create a sustainable income source for Tynedale Hospice at Home.”

Fundraising Officer, Tynedale Hospice At Home
Third year momentum
“We absolutely love working with Just Helping! We have now just completed our 3rd Christmas Tree Collection, and the event has gone from strength to strength.
The support they deliver is faultless, we can always rely on them to be at the end of the phone to help whenever we need it. The seamless provision of the routes and tech are great, and our volunteers really appreciated seeing how invested the team are in their partners.”

Councils
Council support helps make Treecycle even more powerful — giving residents simple, sustainable ways to recycle their real Christmas trees while also supporting local charities and strengthening communities.
Why it matters
A practical way for councils to support local charities while encouraging responsible recycling
This partnership shows how councils can support practical recycling options while helping vital funds reach local causes.
“Manchester City Council is proud to have partnered with Just Helping for several years to support their annual Christmas Tree Recycling campaign. This valued collaboration offers residents a simple, sustainable way to recycle their real Christmas trees, while also raising vital funds for local Manchester charities.
For a small donation, Just Helping collects trees directly from households, with all monies raised supporting good causes across the city.
Together, these efforts help promote sustainability, strengthen communities, and support the incredible work of charities across Manchester.”

Corporate partners
Corporate partners help Treecycle go further. From volunteering teams and vans to practical local support, businesses play a vital role in helping collections grow while delivering meaningful social and environmental impact.

“Kier is thrilled to extend our support to Just Helping with the national Christmas tree collection this January, building on two successful years of local efforts in East Anglia for Break and EACH charities, with many of our projects offering vans and volunteers to support this year’s collection.
This initiative not only aligns with our sustainability strategy, it actively involves our people and our projects across the country, utilising our resources to benefit local communities and charities.
At Kier, volunteering is a valued aspect of our employee benefits, with all colleagues encouraged to use the two volunteering days they receive annually to support causes they are passionate about.
Participating in the Christmas tree collection is a practical way for our teams to contribute to environmental sustainability through recycling, whilst generating much-needed financial support for charities, hospices, community and volunteer groups across the UK.”

“Fun and worthwhile way of getting involved in the local community and building on my own project-management skills. I loved getting to know the Just Helping & St Ann's Hospice teams and having the opportunity to raise valuable money for charities in the Manchester area”.
