About this Collection
The 2019 Christmas tree collection was the third year for Overgate Hospice and was a great success with volunteers collecting 487 Christmas trees in early January raising a total of £5,764.78*.
90% of the monies raised went to the Hospice £5,188.30 with £576.48 allocated to the local charity Friends of Calderdale Countryside as elected by the collection volunteers.
Friends of Calderdale countryside (Friends for short) was set up in 2006 by volunteers and staff of Calderdale Countryside Service, helped with funding from BTCV and the Bearder Trust.

About the Hospice
Overgate Hospice is Calderdale’s only adult Hospice. Since our last Tree Recycle campaign we have cared for 225 people on our In-Patient Unit alone.
