Corporate volunteering with Just Helping
Join a local Christmas TreeCycle collection, give back to your community, and bring your team together for a day that’s practical, social, and genuinely rewarding.

Why get your organisation involved
The TreeCycle Appeal offers real benefits for your organisation, your team and your community. Funds raised support a wide range of local causes — including hospices, children’s charities, mental health services, food banks, community groups and more across the UK.
Boost team morale
Get your team out of the office, working together, and having a laugh while doing something genuinely meaningful. Lift the January blues and have fun!
Deliver real CSR impact
Support local charity fundraising while contributing to a nationwide environmental initiative.
Support causes your team cares about
Support local charities and causes close to your employees’ hearts, helping them feel personally connected to the impact.
Support your sustainability goals
Help reduce waste and contribute to a large-scale recycling initiative, preventing trees from going to landfill and creating measurable environmental impact.
Connect with your community
Work alongside local charities and make a visible difference in the communities your business operates in.
What to expect on the day
From briefing to wrap-up, we’ll make sure your team knows where to be, what to do, and how they can best support the day.
Step 1
Choose how your team gets involved
Whether your team wants to help on the ground, support logistics, or get involved in another practical role, we’ll help find the right fit.
Step 2
Arrive and get briefed
On the day, your team will get a full briefing so everyone knows what to expect. Safety is a priority, and PPE is typically provided where needed.
Step 3
Work together on the day
Teams might help with tree collections, stewarding, refreshments, site support, or other roles that keep the day running smoothly.
Step 4
Finish the day with visible impact
By the end of the day, your team will have supported local charity fundraising, reduced waste, and taken part in something practical, social, and worthwhile.
Whether you’re looking for a simple team volunteering day or something bigger, there are different ways to get involved depending on your goals, from joining a local collection to supporting the appeal at scale.
Bring your team along to a local Christmas TreeCycle collection. It’s active, social, and a genuinely enjoyable way to give back, with no planning required.
🚚 Van crew
Help collect trees from homes using planned routes. Roles include driver, navigator, and loader.
🌲 Ground crew
Keep the site running smoothly by unloading vans, organising trees, and supporting the chipping process.
☕ Refreshments & support
Keep volunteers fuelled with hot drinks and snacks or support the smooth running of the day.
🚦 Stewards
Help manage traffic, guide vehicles, and make sure everything runs safely and smoothly.
On the day, your team will receive a full briefing with safety as a priority. PPE is typically provided, and there are always a range of roles available — so people can get involved in a way that suits their skills and comfort levels.
Running your own Christmas TreeCycle collection gives your organisation the opportunity to support local charities, engage your team, and deliver meaningful impact in your community.
Credera expanded from Leeds into Newcastle, supporting multiple local charities.
Credera is a great example of how organisations can take their involvement further. After launching their first collection in Leeds, they returned for a second successful year and expanded into Newcastle, supporting Children North East alongside CATCH Leeds and BARCA-Leeds.
Their team felt strongly aligned with the Just Helping mission and saw the appeal as a practical way to support CSR objectives, contribute to sustainability goals, and make a meaningful difference in communities close to their employees.
Why it worked for Credera
How it works
1. Choose your area
Select a postcode area your organisation can comfortably run a collection in.
2. Pick your charity
Choose the local charity or charities you want to support.
3. Plan the day
Organise volunteers, vehicles, chippers, and a suitable site.
4. Collect the trees
Use routes provided by Just Helping and send your teams out on the day.
“The second year of our Christmas Tree Recycling collection with Just Helping Charity is complete, and to widen our fundraising efforts, this year we launched our first collection in Newcastle ✨
I hope the 2026 team agree when I say there’s nothing better than getting your woolly hats on, getting mucked in and spending an impactful day with your colleagues (except, maybe, the pub lunch afterwards)!
Here’s to the next year of making a difference with our CSR time!”
Emily, Credera
For organisations looking to support the appeal at scale, nationwide involvement can deliver significant charity, community, and environmental impact.
