Corporate volunteering with Just Helping is your chance to be part of something truly special.
We’re proud to partner with organisations across the UK who support the Big Christmas Tree Cycle Appeal, a nationwide campaign that raises vital funds for local charities while recycling thousands of Christmas trees every January.
Businesses play a huge role in making the event possible by volunteering their time and resources. It’s a unique opportunity to bring teams together, support local communities and be part of something bigger.
Join the organisations already helping to make the Christmas Tree Cycle Appeal bigger, better and stronger together.
Getting involved in the Christmas Tree Cycle Appeal offers real benefits for your organisation, your team and your community:
Ways your business can get involved
Bring your team along for a CSR or volunteering day (or even a few!). Collection days are active, fast-paced and a lot of fun — from hunting down trees to loading vans and preparing them for recycling.
PPE and refreshments are typically provided on the day.
Credera is a great example of how organisations can take their involvement even further. After launching their first collection in Leeds, they returned for a second successful year and expanded their impact by introducing a new collection in Newcastle, supporting Children North East, alongside CATCH Leeds and BARCA-Leeds.
Their team felt strongly aligned with the Just Helping mission and saw this as an opportunity to support their CSR objectives, contribute to sustainability goals, and make a meaningful difference in communities close to their employees.
How it works:
1. Choose your area
Select a postcode area where your organisation can comfortably run a collection
2. Pick your charity
Decide which local charity (or charities) you want to support
3. Plan your collection
Organise volunteers, vehicles, chippers and a suitable site
4. Collect the trees
Use routes provided by Just Helping and send your teams out
“ The second year of our Christmas Tree Recycling collection with Just Helping Charity is complete, and to widen our fundraising efforts, this year we launched our first collection in Newcastleβ¨
I hope the 2026 team agree when I state that there’s nothing better than getting your woolly hats on, getting mucked in and spending an impactful day with your colleagues (except, maybe, the pub lunch afterwards)!
Here’s to the next year of making a difference with our CSR time! ” — Emily, Credera
3. Support the Appeal nationwide
Kier has become a key corporate partner of Just Helping, playing a vital role in scaling the Big Christmas Tree Cycle Appeal across the UK. Building on successful regional collections in East Anglia, Kier expanded their involvement nationally, providing both volunteers and resources to support collections across multiple locations.
Their commitment to sustainability and community impact is embedded in their approach, with teams across the business using their volunteering days to actively support the campaign. Kier's involvement not only supports local charities, but also delivers real environmental impact by recycling thousands of Christmas trees into sustainable woodchip and reducing household waste at scale.
Their contribution has helped drive the appeal’s wider national impact, which has raised over £1.85 million and recycled more than 89,000 Christmas trees.
“A huge thank-you to the 103 volunteers across 24 contracts… It truly is one of the highlights of my year to see what an incredible impact we can have when we all come together.” — Jess Dyer, Kier
The charities you'll support
Funds raised through the Christmas Tree Cycle Appeal are distributed to a wide range of local charities and community organisations across the UK. This includes hospices, children’s charities, mental health services, food banks, youth groups and homelessness charities — supporting causes that make a real difference in communities nationwide.
Trees are chipped and repurposed into materials such as woodchip, preventing them from going to landfill and contributing to a large-scale nationwide recycling initiative.
In 2026 alone, the Christmas Tree Cycle Appeal prevented an estimated 1.4 million kg of COβ emissions from entering the atmosphere.
Whether you’re looking for a team volunteering day or want to lead your own collection, there are so many ways your organisation can be part of the Christmas TreeCycle Appeal.
